Hello everyone on the Spiceworks Lounge from Lawrie – Lawrie5252
As most of you know Yasaf Burshan (Yasaf Burshan) is the major contributor and creator owner of the Spiceworks Lounge and a great piece of ongoing work it is too. Thanks Yasaf
What many of you may not know is Yasaf is a bit overwhelmed with work at the moment and having some difficulty making his usual level of contribution to Spiceworks Community and The Lounge. I’ve put my hand up to give him a bit of a hand and try to keep you all up to date with movements in the Spiceworks community until Yasaf is back on top of it again
For those of you used to seeing Hebrew on The Lounge I have to apologise, my Hebrew is nowhere near good enough for publication so I’ll stick to English and hope that’s OK
Firstly I’d like to draw your attention to a very interesting recent interview published by Community member slatronica (Steve Latronica), Steve publishes a blog called Synergy (http://synergy-blog.com/) and recently interviewed Community Manager Nic Tolstoshev. The interview targets “the culture at the office and how it makes for a productive and positive work environment”. A really great read

This week in the Community has also seen the introduction on the 11th of August, the latest ‘Spiceworks Community Update’ and quite an update it is too. The features of this update include
Review categories for Computers
Performance improvements for community site
Infrastructure changes to support linking multiple Spiceworks application accounts to one community account
Update your User Status from the "What's New in the Community" right sidebar See the text of a comment in the subscription email
Facebook "Like" button added to social media button bar
Plenty of bug fixes
One major change in the Community this week has been changes in the backend delivery of Spiceworks Community content, resulting in hugely improved page load times of community pages for those of us in remote locations in relation to Spiceworks HQ in Austin Texas
A huge thank you and kudos goes out to Kris (Spiceworks) for his efforts in making this all happen. If you’d like to read more about this improvement, Kris has written a piece ‘Spiceworks Pages Loading Faster? Here's Why….’ which explains the basis of the improvement.
The SpiceRex “Contest to create An Advert!” has been running for three weeks now and with only 2 days left its hotting up with some great designs coming though
If you enter into the competition and win you could get
Top 5 Finalists - in each category
A cool, limited edition SpiceRex t-shirt, commemorating 1 million users
Grand Prize Winners – in each category
One foot custom created cut-out of SpiceRex – he’ll stand on your desk
SpiceWorks Ultimate Swag Bag – which will include a SpiceRex t-shirt
Bragging rights as creator of Spiceworks first ever crowd-sourced ad– to be run on a variety of IT websites
Finally if you have been testing the Spiceworks 5.0 beta and/or have visited the Spiceworks 5.0 community group you might have noticed the ‘Developer’s Notes’ scrolls on the right hand side of the page, keeping us up to date with the developers activities working on the next ‘beta 3’ release (grab your copy of Spiceworks 5.0 build 3 here)
You can also visit See All 5.0's "Next-Frontier" Features Here for a detailed
and revised list of all the great features expected to be delivered in this new release
Well that’s it for now, I’ll catch you all again soon
שלום
